This simple cable knit hat pattern has a central cable on a seed stitch background. This is a beginner-friendly pattern that is knit flat and then seamed.

Teen/Adult: 18” (45.5 cm) hat circumference x 9” (23 cm) height before blocking.

Materials
King Cole Big Value Super Chunky Stormy yarn (100% acrylic, 3.5 oz/100 g, 88 yd/81 m) – 1 skein each in 4106 Thunder (CA) and 4110 Sleet (CB), or approximately 45 yd (41 m) in CA and 80 yd (73 m) in CB in any super bulky weight yarn.

US Size 15/10 mm knitting needles, or size needed to obtain gauge.

US Size 13/9 mm knitting needles, or size needed to obtain gauge.

Locking stitch markers.

Cable needle.
Yarn needle.

Gauge
14 sts = 4.5” (11.5 cm) in seed stitch pattern with larger needle. For best fit, always check your gauge.
