Just Hatched Blanket is knit center-out and can be knit to any size, using any yarn weight. The pattern suggests needle sizes to go with the yarn weights, but you are free to choose a needle size which gives you the fabric you like. The blanket can be knit to the desired size or until you run out of yarn, making this a great stash-buster project.

The texture stitch uses a combination of knit-purl, so the blanket is ideal for beginners.

As the blanket grows in size, you might need two circular needles to accommodate the large number of stitches.

The center might appear ‘puffy’ when the blanket is being knit and it should flatten out on blocking. The suggested bind-off in the pattern will ensure a loose edge, but you may want to use a larger needle if you want a looser edge.

You will need around 1700 yards of worsted weight yarn for a square blanket of size 35”.

The yellow blanket is knit using Knit Picks Brava Worsted in Canary colorway. This blanket was knit by Charlene Lum-Moseley (bellarose4 on Ravelry).
