This is a hat that began its life as a Christmas present for my Mom. Such a challenge to make the “perfect” present for a special person who is also a life-long knitter. I chose these colors because they remind me of my Mom and her gardens.

Size: Women’s average.

Gauge: 32 sts = 4”/10cm in pattern using larger needles after blocking.

Yarn: Fingering weight, five shades of Jamieson Spindrift (25 g ball, 115 yds/105 m)

Needles and notions: US Size #1 (2.25 mm) and US Size #3 (3.25 mm) for circular knitting or size to achieve gauge. Stitch marker, tapestry needle. Optional: white embroidery floss.
