Cats love these “scratch mats” and they’re fast and easy to make.
Natural jute fiber is eco friendly, and very inexpensive!

These scratch mats can be sprinkled with catnip or misted with catnip spray.

Pattern uses jute twine. any brand will work. use the 3 mm size.

If you want to make the optional edging included in the pattern, you will also need some cotton utility twine.
