☕ Finally, something just for you

Between the to do lists, cooking, cleaning and laundry, we all burn out sometimes. After making a pile of Christmas gifts for everyone else, I decided it was time to make something for me, and the Kahlua Crochet Beanie was born. It was designed for the Elk Studio 2017 Make It For Me event.

Crochet is good for the soul, and there’s nothing like wearing something you made with your own hands. The PDF includes the full pattern with all the photo tutorials in one printable file.

✨ What makes it work

• Split stitch texture. The body is worked in split single crochet.
• Post stitch details. Front and back post stitches add raised texture.
• Top down. Worked from the crown down.
• Faux fur pompom. A plush finish made from faux fur fabric.
• Photo tutorials. Step by step photos included in the PDF.

✂️ What you’ll need

• Yarn: 128 Superwash, Cascade Yarns (bulky), about 150 yds
• Love a swap? As long as you meet gauge: Wool of the Andes Superwash Bulky, WeCrochet · Tosh Chunky or Home, Madelinetosh · Select Chunky Merino Superwash, Plymouth Yarn · Big Twist Chunky · Scarfie or Unique, Lion Brand · Serenity Chunky, Deborah Norville · Heathers yarn
• Hook: J (6.0mm), or size needed for gauge
• Tools: Yarn Needle · Scissors · Sewing needle and thread
• To finish like the sample: Faux fur fabric for the pompom

• Size: One size adult, 7 ¾“ tall x 9 ½” wide laid flat
• Skill level: Experienced
