Welcome to the Fall 2021 Knitalong! Our knitalongs are a wonderful way to learn and grow in new ways. We accomplish that through learning knitting skills, accountability (to stick to your knitting goal!), round the clock knitting support and connection with other like-minded makers. So we hope you’ll consider joining in.

Just like the adult version, the Kaleidoscope Kids Sweater is a wonderful beginner sweater that is a celebration of yarn and color but just in a mini version! Let your inner creative shine as you experiment and go with the flow with color and yarn placement. This style is a seamless, yoke-style sweater, worked in the round, from the top down entirely in stockinette stitch using one color or a mix of colors/yarns. It has a straight body and full-length sleeves with a crochet border to finish off all of the edges. Perfect for layering and showing your kid’s own style, this sweater is so versatile and fun to create.

Please check out our Ravelry project page for this style and see the Kids Kaleidoscope Sweater on a range of beautiful kiddos!

Here’s what you can expect in our knitalong:

~ Just for you - These patterns will be available to those that sign up for our KAL for 6 months. You will have access to all 4 patterns and video tutorial content forever through Teachable.

~ Round the clock help - Myself and the Knit Collage team are here to help you make your project a total success! Zoom help sessions with knitting teachers are also here for you when you need it.

~ Bonuses (!!!) - This time around we are offering a whole bunch of bonus patterns: the Dreamy Cardi, the original Kaleidoscope Cardi, the Kaleidoscope Sweater and the Kaleidoscope Pet Sweater, plus a discount to purchase yarn for any future project at 20% off. We typically only offer videos for main styles, but as an extra bonus we will be adding video tutorials for the Kaleidoscope Sweater.

~ Mindfulness - This includes all level restorative yoga classes (hosted by me and my yoga teacher Tara), blog posts (a collaboration with Emma of Bloom & Create) and events centered around freeing your creative spirit.

The kits will be available for ONE WEEK only. You’ll be able to purchase them from October 12th through the 19th. Then the patterns will not be available for another 6 to 12 months.

Fit Note:

Kids come in all shapes and sizes. Each person is wonderful and unique and so is their body. If the child’s measurements do not match the age, it is recommended to choose a size that has the best measurements. This pattern is worked from the top down and you can easily adjust the length of the body and sleeves to be longer or shorter as needed

7.5 sts and 10 rows = 4” / 10 cm in stockinette stitch worked flat using knitting needles on Spun Cloud (MC), steam blocked

Materials:

1 (1, 1, 2, 2) skeins Spun Cloud (100% wool; approx. 100 yds / 200 g)

1 (2, 2, 2, 2) Mini Skein Sampler kits (approx. 85 yds / 170g) - 5 mini skeins of yarn included per kit, 17 yds / skein

The size 6 yr sample is shown in Spun Cloud Sedona and Bodacious Pink with a Mini Skein Sampler kit in Mustard, and Size 10 yr sample is shown in Spun Cloud Stormy Weather and Orchid with a Mini Skein Sampler kit in Bouquet. Please note with testing it was determined that Sizes 4, 6, and 8 yrs only need 1 skein of Spun Cloud yarn. However, if you’d like to add in more variety for the striped version, you can use a second skein in another color as per the Size 6 yr sample shown.
