Kalinda Arrow Wrap
You can find the free version of this pattern on my blog HERE.
This downloadable PDF contains the full pattern in one ad-free, printable file.
The Kalinda Arrow Wrap starts with the square from my Kalinda Blanket, worked in rounds from the center out. Then two wings grow out of it in rows, with the lace waves from my Kalinda Wrap. Each wing runs out to a sharp point, so the wrap has two pointed ends, like my Arrow Crochet Wrap.
The whole wrap is one piece, so there is nothing to sew at the end. It’s made from one long gradient yarn cake, blue in the center and pink at the tips. The pattern shows you how to split the cake so both wings match.
The waves look like lace, but they are just sc, hdc, dc and tr. If you can work a dc and a tr, you can make this wrap. I’d call it intermediate, because the shaping needs your attention on every row.
The PDF pattern (21 pages) includes:
- written instructions for every round and row, with stitch counts
- 3 stitch charts: the center square, the left wing and the right wing
- a photo tutorial with step-by-step photos for the tricky rounds and rows
- a stitch tracker to tick off every round and row
- “How to read this pattern” and “Common mistakes” pages
- construction diagrams
Materials:
- 1 cake of KOKONEK Merino (50% merino wool, 50% acrylic; 1600 m / 1750 yd per cake) or another long gradient cake of a similar length
- 3.5 mm (US E/4) hook
- tapestry needle, scissors, 4 stitch markers (optional)
Gauge after blocking: after Round 8 the square measures 22 cm (8.75 in) across the diagonal. Gauge is not important for this project, but a different gauge changes the yardage and the finished size.
The pattern uses US crochet terminology.
