Kallina is a long oversized cardigan with pockets and accent rib at the back, worked from the bottom up. The entire body, including the front bands, is worked in one piece to the underarms, then the fronts and the back are worked separately with short row shoulder shaping. The shoulders are joined using the 3-needle bound-off, the sleeves are picked up around the armholes and worked in the round.

Textured bands and ribbings are reversible and good option for folded sleeves. The cardigan can be worked without buttonholes to be worn as an open front cover or/and secured with a belt.

This is a versatile garment that can be worn with more or less positive ease, depending on one’s preferred style. Aran weight yarn and the stockinette stitch background makes it quite fast knit for its size.
