El chal Kancamagus estará disponible el 6 de marzo.
La Kancamagus Highway es una carretera que atraviesa las White Mountains en New Hampshire, Estados Unidos, y está considerada una de las mejores carreteras del mundo para poder apreciar el follaje de otoño.
El chal Kancamagus es un chal o toquilla.triangular que se comienza a tejer por el centro superior del mismo, aumentado una serie de puntos cada dos vueltas para darle su forma final. Se caracteriza por su espina central y por el degradado que imita las distintas etapas de las hojas durante el otoño, y que le da un toque delicado y etéreo.
Técnicas utilizadas
Para poder tejer el chal Kancamagus tendrás que saber tejer del derecho, del derecho retorcido, del revés, echar hebra, deslizar puntos, hacer aumentos y disminuciones, montar puntos y cerrarlos.
Agujas recomendadas
Agujas de 3 mm (US 2 ½). Puedes utilizar agujas circulares con un cable de, al menos, 60 cm, o agujas rectas. En este último caso, ten en cuenta que puede resultar complicado tejer cuando tengas un número elevado de puntos en las agujas. Puedes utilizar el número de aguja que necesites para ajustar tu tensión.
Lana
Lana grosor fingering (400 m/ 100 gr). Yo he usado restos de mi stash creando un degradado de cinco colores; la idea de esta toquilla es que su peso final sea de 100 gr, en cuyo caso deberás tener aproximadamente 20 gr de los cuatro primeros colores y unos 26 gr del quinto color, salvo que decidas tejer el icord en un sexto color. Si fuera así, necesitarías 20 gr de los cinco primeros colores y unos 6-7 gr para el icord. Este diseño es muy versátil, y podrás hacerlo de un solo color, de dos o más, o con una madeja que varíe de color e, incluso, más grande. Todos estos factores harán variar la cantidad de lana que necesitarás. Ten en cuenta que, para obtener como resultado un chal “equilibrado” tendrás que utilizar cantidades cada vez más grandes de lana, llegando a doblar el consumo de la misma en el quinto color respecto al primero.
Muestra de tensión
La muestra de tensión no es muy relevante en un chal, pero ten en cuenta que si tu tensión difiere mucho de la mía y quieres utilizar cinco colores y 100 gr de lana, eso hará variar la cantidad de lana utilizada.

Medidas
Las dimensiones del chal Kancamagus tras el bloqueo son de, aproximadamente, 125 cm de largo por 51´5 cm en la parte más ancha del chal.

The Kancamagus Highway is a road that crosses the White Mountains in New Hampshire, USA, and it is considered one of the best scenic routes in the world to enjoy the autumn foliage.
The Kancamagus shawlette is a triangular wrap that is worked from the top center down, with stitches increased every two rows to create its final shape. It is characterized by its central spine and by the fade that mimics the changing colors of the leaves in autumn, giving it a delicate and ethereal look.
Skills required
Pattern requires the following skills: knit, knit through the back loop, purl, cast on and bind off stitches, slip stitches and make increases and decreases.
Recommended neddle size
US 2 ½ (3 mm) circular needles; you can use either at least 60 cm long, or straight needles, if that’s your choice. You can use another needle size to obtain gauge.
Yarn
Fingering weight yarn (400 m in 100 gr). I used leftovers from my stash to create a five-color gradient. The idea behind this shawl is for the finished piece to weigh about 100 gr; in that case, you will need approximately 20 gr of each of the first four colors and about 26 gr of the fifth color, unless you choose to knit the i-cord in a sixth color. If so, you will need 20 gr of each of the first five colors and approximately 6–7 gr for the i-cord. This pattern is highly versatile; you can knit it in a single color, two or more colors, or with a color-changing skein, and you can also make it bigger if you wish.
All these factors will affect the total yardage required. Please note that, in order to achieve a “balanced” shawl, you will need to use progressively larger amounts of yarn, eventually doubling the yardage of the fifth color compared to the first.
Gauge
Gauge is not very important in a shawl, but keep in mind that if your gauge is very different from mine and you plan to use five colors and 100 gr of yarn, this will affect the amount of yarn required.
22 stitches and 34 rows in stockinette stitch over 4 inches (10 centimeters), on US 2 ½ needles, knitting flat, after blocking.
Dimensions
The shawlette measures 49 ¼ inches (125 cm) length and 20 inches (51´5 cm) at the widest part of the shawlette, after blocking.
