KARAMELLA
Karamella is a two-coloured slightly U-shaped shawl knit sideways from tip to tip. The “bonbons” are shaped with short-rows, and the entire shawl is knit in garter stitch. This makes it a very simple project that anyone can execute, as long as you know how to make increases, decreases and how to slip stitches.

This shawl is perfect for your handspun yarn in various colours, combined with a plain white or solid colour yarn. Or perhaps a bunch of mini skeins as the contrast colour? If you want to make the shawl larger or smaller, it’s easy to knit more or fewer repeats of the bonbon sections.

Karamella is written for a locally produced Swedish yarn from the local mini-mill Östergötlands ullspinneri. The yarns Visjö and Karamell are spun with wool from finewool sheep, a native heritage breed that has a very soft and crimpy wool resulting in a fabric that can be worn next to the skin. The colourway Karamell is a gorgeous gradient yarn that goes through the colours about three times per skein. It can be ordered from Ullspinneriet.se.
