Kastellet is the Danish word for “the castle”. This hap shawl / blanket matches my design “Luftkastel”. Kastellet is a square hap shawl / blanket with a wide lace edge.

The pattern includes directions for three sizes 124x124 (142x142; 160x160) centimeters after blocking.

The middle of the blanket is worked back and forth while the lace edge is worked in the round. The pattern is written for a knitter who is able to follow written instructions as well as follow a lace chart and work increase and decrease. (Direction is a combination of chart and written text).

This pattern calls for a yarn with a gauge of 25 stitches per 10 centimeters, i.e. a yardage of approximately 300 meters per 100 grams. Largest size pictured in hand dyed (leaves from Acer Palmatum) Merino 300 from Chester Wool Company.

Materials: yarn, circular knitting needle and yarn needle for weaving in ends.

I have a loyalty program where you can choose a free pattern after purchasing my patterns for at minimum of § 25.0.

The pattern does not include directions for the matching cresent shaped shawl, finished items yarn etc. The pattern only includes instruction for knitting the square hap shawl / blanket.
