1.You can use whatever arrangement of needles you like (4 or 5 dpns, 2 circs or ML).

2.There is a right and left hand because of the way our fingers are made. Both are worked the same until the beginning of the fingers.

3.The pattern is set up to knit rounds from either the inside (going in one direction) or the outside (going in the other direction) in order to simplify working the knitted braid and also to reduce the amount of purling in the round.
There are notes at end about working the whole glove in one direction without this turning it inside and outside.

4.The striped thumb gusset involves “intarsia in the round” which is managed by slipping stitches and knitting some sts from left to right on the rounds when the CC is at the far end of the gusset sts. This may be a little awkward at first.
