This can be made either as a cardigan or a tunic.

The embroidery that Katherine of Aragon adorned Henry VIII’s shirts with inspired this cardigan pattern by Jade Starmore. Pattern includes 5 stranded colorwork charts, drop shoulders, and steeks. The colorwork design includes 4 background colors and 8 pattern colors.

Size information:

Small fits bust 32 to 36 inches (81 to 91 cm). Finished size is 45”/114.5 cm around.

Large fits bust 37 to 42 inches (94 to 107 cm). Finished size for cardigan is 48”/123 cm around; finished size for tunic is 49”/124cm around.

Size altered by adding one stitch to each side of 2 charts.

Yarn requirements

Cardigan

Four of the colours (Rye, Pink Mist, Heliotrope and Natural) require 4 skeins. Two of the colours (Rosemary and Sea Green) require 3 skeins. Five of the colours (Ginger, Sunset, Cranberry, Garnet and Marjoram) require 2 skeins. The final colour (Thyme) requires 1 skein in the smaller size and 2 skeins in the larger size.

Tunic

Two of the colours (Rye and Pink Mist) require 3 skeins. Three of the colours (Rosemary, Natural and Heliotrope) require 2 skeins in the smaller size and 3 skeins in the larger size. Six of the colours (Sea Green, Marjoram, Ginger, Sunset, Cranberry and Garnet) require 2 skeins. The final colour (Thyme) requires 1 skein in the smaller size and 2 skeins in the larger size.
