This is a pattern for a shawl that features two stitches that come to us from Japan. They are comprised of cables, lace, and mock cables.
Both are interesting and fun to knit. All symbols have been “translated” from the Japanese to those that are more familiar to American and European knitters. Together, the two stitches make a beautiful shawl. The stitches, although they are Japanese, are easily learned by American knitters, especially those who love knitting lace. There are also instructions contained within the pattern for an optional crocheted edging.

Skill Level: Intermediate (assuming a basic knowledge of lace knitting and cabling).

The two stitches are both charted and written out line by line.

The wrap was expertly pattern tested by Page Zelasko, who can be contacted at: izazbz @yahoo.com, and it was knit using Handmaiden’s Casbah in colorway, Mint.
