Last Christmas I made myself a yarn advent calendar from my bottomless drawer of sock-yarn leftovers, and this super-happy-making scarf was the end result.

This is such an easy pattern, it’s so gratifying using up all your lovely odds and ends of stash, and the scarf is deeply satisfying as it knits up (also you don’t actually have to do it for Christmas, obvs).

YARN:
24 x 10g/40m homemade mini-skeins (or 12 x 20g/80m, or 4 x 60g/240m, or 2 x 120g/480m, or some other combination where you can work out the maths)

NEEDLES:
3.25mm (US 3)

GAUGE AND SIZING:
Gauge is roughly 8 rows/10 stitches per inch in pattern when lightly stretched, and the final scarf is approx 72 inches long by 8 inches wide after blocking (without tassels)
