This light long scarf incorporates easy lace knitting; creating bias edges at each end; and pretty picot edging along both long sides.

The first photo shows this made with hand-dyed variegated Brooks Farm yarn, the other with Juniper Moon Farm Stargazer alpaca and silk blend.

The pattern includes an option to use 3 or more colors in one project:
excellent for using up yarns from the stash.

Use a soft, drapey yarn and gauge, and needles that give you about 5 stitches per inch.

The finished scarf will be about 70 inches long and 8+ inches wide, depending how many repeats you include. You will drop stitches at one end and add them at the other, for a diagonal edge on each short end. Start with about 430 yards of yarn—you can keep knitting to any width you prefer if you have more yarn.
