This is a classic tuque with the wool sock design worked into it. The look is very popular and adults, teens as well as children love it. It is gender neutral and makes a really nice, quick gift.
I knit this one with wool, but if someone has an allergy or intolerance to it there are a lot of really nice options out there.
The yardage needed for each colour is as follows:
Approx. 140m (153 yrds) of grey, 40m (43 yrds) of white and 13m (14 yrds) of red.
The pattern is for one size and fits from size 21” to 24”. To make it bigger or smaller, just add or substract 8 sts when you cast-on and add or substrat length before shaping the crown.
