Keeps Watch Beanie
Keeps Watch Beanie is a satisfying crochet hat pattern designed for advanced beginners who are ready to graduate from plain rounds into real texture. Worked bottom-up in the round with a structured ribbed brim and an allover textured body, this unisex beanie fits the whole family, from kids to adults, in one approachable pattern.
This is my 2026 contribution to the Crochet Cancer Challege. Read more about the challenge HERE.
Construction and technique
• Bottom-up construction worked in the round after a brim is made and seamed
• Textured stitch pattern through the body adds visual interest without demanding advanced skill
• Two hook sizes used: a smaller hook shapes the ribbing, a larger hook works the body for ideal drape
• Decreases at the crown for a more fitted beanie
Materials
• DK weight yarn, 115-200 yards depending on size (sample shown in Asylum Fibers DK)
• Hooks: US 9 (5.5 mm) for ribbing, US 10 (6 mm) for body
• Yarn needle for finishing
Sizing
• Four sizes included: S, M, L, XL
• Fits child (4-12), teen (13-17), and adult heads
• Unisex silhouette with a classic, fitted look
What’s included
