This design is part of the KDD My Place 2022 collection.

Kelp has been inspired by the nature surrounding me: the vibrant sea skies, the various blue colors from the sea and skies, as well as the green marram grass & sea kelp. You can find the KDD My Place essay & blog post here: https://kddandco.com/2022/10/05/kelp/

Kelp is a stranded colorwork beret, knitted in the round straight up from the brim. The beret comes in three sizes, so it will fit smaller to larger heads. Kelp uses simple intuitive colorwork motifs using only two colors at a time. All sizes use the same chart, markers guide you through the decreases, so you can sit back and enjoy the knitting.

On 14 October ‘22 I have donated 591 euro, all proceeds from the Kelp sale to The Ocean Cleanup. A non profit organization developing and scaling technologies to rid the oceans of plastic, like cleaning the ocean garbage patches: https://theoceancleanup.com
