Kevin the Cassowary
Say hello to Kevin the Cassowary, one of the shyest members of the menagerie. In the wild, cassowaries are timid and quick to hide in their rainforest habitat, making them difficult to study. This crochet version of one of the biggest and heaviest birds in the world will take up much less room once placed on your shelf as part of your collection.
TOFT’s Edward’s Menagerie collection is a series of crochet amigurumi toys designed by Kerry Lord. This crochet bird kit contains TOFT’s quality pure wool yarn and an easy-to-follow downloadable pattern. There are video links for all the crochet stitches and techniques used in the pattern to get you started and help you complete your toy. Share your progress with the TOFT community on Instagram @toft_uk using the #edsanimals hashtag.
YOU WILL NEED: To complete your crochet bird you will need a few added extras including a 3mm crochet hook, toy stuffing and a wool needle. Find everything you need in our haberdashery section or upgrade to a complete kit which includes all of the above!
MEASUREMENTS: When finished your cassowary will be approximately 33cm from feet to top of head.
SKILL LEVEL 2: This kit is suitable for enthusiastic beginners or those who have crocheted before.
IT WILL TAKE: Approximately 5-10 hours crochet time.
