The style of this shawl is a traditional half hap; a wide triangular shawl originating in Shetland. It was worn wrapped around the body and tied at the back.
I chose kidsilk yarn because it is so soft and light weight and yet so warm. I used a mixture of generic undyed kidsilk, Rowan kidsilk Haze and Debbie Bliss Angel. Any lace weight yarn with a halo would work in this pattern though. The colours were inspired by my garden in summer.
The coloured lace border uses one pattern, Horseshoe Lace, but some bands are worked in stocking stitch and some in garter stitch.
