About:
The Killary Cardigan—a DK-weight, yoked cardigan—is named for the Irish village of Killary Harbour, which is famous for being Ireland’s only true fjord. It is a narrow, deep inlet of the Atlantic Ocean, surrounded by immense mountains.

I dedicate this sweater to my dad, who I recently lost. I chose Killary because of a story he told me about he and my mom going to a festival in Killary Harbour on their honeymoon. At this festival, there was a prize for best dressed and my mom won it. And was so surprised as she didn’t even know about the contest. This story just tickled me and I knew I had to use the name so I could document it as it brought great joy to my dad.

This cardigan—with both written and charted directions-—has some easy texture in the yoke and a relaxing stockinette body and sleeves. Worked seamlessly from the top down, it is perfect for trying on as you go. Written in 9 sizes, with an option for traditional length or cropped length, it is meant to be an easy knit and a wardrobe staple.

Needles:
US 4 (3.5 mm) and US 5 (3.75 mm), 24” (61 cm) and 40” (100 cm) circular needle or needles needed to get gauge.
