As a friendship shawl -- It can be knitted by 2 friends, each one making their own.
This is how it works -- Go out, buy solid colored sock yarn, have your friend do the same thing. Let her know what brand of yarn that you chose. Hopefully, you will get 2 different colors. Give your friend 153-200 yards of yarn and vice/versa. Now, you are ready to knit the gauge swatch. Use your color of choice as the main color for your own shawl. Your colors may clash, but this is about friendship and isn’t is great that in spite of our differences, our knitting make us kindred knitters and sometimes we are even more blessed and have kindred hearts!
Warning! Make sure that your yarn is colorfast. Use both colors when working your gauge swatch. Soak swatch to make sure that your colors do NOT bleed.
