Kindrogan Hat is a simple and easy hat pattern for 4ply to Aran weight yarns. It works well with all styles and fibers: tweed, self striping, solid, semi-solid and variegated yarns.

Merino, cashmere, cotton silk, acrylics and blends all work well - the choice is yours.

The hat is using a simple rib pattern and is worked on circular needles in the round. The crown is finished with double pointed needles or the magic loop method.

The rib pattern can be worked in 2 or more coloured stripes.

The instructions are given for 5 different yarn weights in 5 different sizes from S to XL or circumference of 21” - 23 1/2” (53 - 60cm).

The hat length should be between 8.5 - 9.5”, but can easily be adapted to the desired measurements.

The gauge in stockinette stitch ranges from 28 - 18 stitches per 4” (10cm), depending on yarn weight.

The pattern is in form of written instructions.

Skills required are knitting in the round, knit and purl stitches and knitting 2 stitches together.
