I recently had a DNA test and, to my surprise, it seems none of my ancestors were actually from central Europe as my family had always thought. A good chunk of my DNA actually appears to have come from the British Isles. Perhaps this explains my love of living near the ocean? So although I can’t say exactly which part of that rainy island my ancestors hailed from, I decided to build an Aran sweater as an homage to my island kinfolk. This sweater is knit with wool, in pieces, with cabling features on back, front, & sleeve. The sweater boasts a good sized collar to keep the chill off the neck, and is cozy and warm to defend against the damp of frequent rain and ocean breezes.
