You need to know basic knowledge in crocheting:

• magic ring
• chain
• single crochet
• half double crochet
• slip stitch
• increase
• decrease

With hook size 2.5, the Kingfisher will be around 9.5 cm tall, 5 cm long and 4 cm wide.

Yarn: Use the colors and weight you prefer and the appropriate sized hook.

I’ve used a 2.5mm crochet hook and the following yarn:
Color 1: turquoise (hobbii rainbow cotton 8/4 33 turquoise)
Color 2: orange (hobbii rainbow cotton 8/4 57 orange)
Color 3: white (hobbii rainbow cotton 8/4 52 vanilla)
Color 4: dark turquoise (hobbii rainbow cotton 8/4 35 petrol blue)
Color 5: dark blue (hobbii rainbow cotton 8/4 prussian blue)

Other materials needed:

• Soft stuffing
• A needle and some black and white yarn for embroidering, sewing pins, scissors
• Optional: safety eyes 8 mm (or any other appropriate size), stitch marker
