♫ The Music ♫
The Humours of Kinvara is a lively traditional reel. Kinvara itself is a seaport town in South Galway, Ireland. In Irish it’s “ceann mhara” which means head of the sea. And so the lively music and motion of the sea once again inspire beautiful cables.

Mittens in 4 sizes! Knit in the round from the cuff up, these mittens begin with an Estonian Cast On. Increases are worked to form the thumb gusset. Thumb stitches are then placed on waste yarn while the upper portion of the mitten is worked. The mitten top is bound off using a 3-Needle Bind Off. Stitches are picked up at the gap above the thumb gusset and are worked along with the held stitches to create the thumb.

The mitten backs have slight design variations to accommodate the sizes; the X Small and Small sizes have paired staghorn cables decorating the mitten back while the Medium size has a third cabled braid added between those cables and the Large size has an additional tiny staghorn cable. The palm and thumb for all sizes are worked in Stockinette stitch.

Both charts and written directions for charts are provided. Charts are contained in the main pattern document; the written directions for charts are included as a separate PDF.
