Like its namesake, Kir Royale is heady and bright – a treat both to knit and wear.

The slipped garter stitch pattern creates a delectable texture in the body, edged by a wide cable that seems to gently fold in on itself.

A generous ribbed trim flares from the bottom.

A beautiful showcase for variegated yarns, Kir Royale is simply divine when knit in an elegant merino/silk blend like Luna from Wollfaktor.

The shawl is worked in different steps. First, the textured body is knit down and out from the center of the top edge. The cable panel is then worked across, putting more and more stitches to rest as you go, and in the end, these are used to add the ribbed edging.

Pattern has been tech edited and test knitted.
