A kishie is a traditional basket from Shetland -- one of many. They were made from straw and were quite durable.

This beautiful triangle shawl has several motifs including the basket-weave, an original chart depicting fish swimming in the current. We recommend Lost City Silk for this pattern because of the fluidity and grace that silk lends to any project.

Sample shawl modeled in photo knit using Lost City Silk in colorway Pretty Penny. Studio photo of shawl knit using Lost City Silk in colorway Artemesia.

On Row 14 of the Set Up, place a marker after the first two stitches and before the last two stitches. These stitches are your edging and will always be knit, never purled. The edging stitches are not included in either of the first two charts, but exist on your needle. Remove all markers before starting the Drops Chart.
