Kistane
This is the tenth square released for the In Mawwi blanket, this pattern was originally released as a graph on an ELCG (East London Crochet Group) worksheet in June 2023, I have now added the written instructions and added the photo of the reverse of the square as well as the front.
This square is worked in Interlocking/double filet crochet from the bottom up.
Double Filet crochet is very similar to interlocking crochet where you work two filet nets interwoven, and this square is a great example of this with the centre section of the square front and back being clearly separate.
Although the samples for these squares are worked in DK there is no reason you couldn’t use 4ply or Aran, it is a great project to use up those odd balls you have in stash. Obviously you would have to change the hook you use as with this technique it is very easy to end up with something akin to cardboard so err on the side of a larger hook.
Just a reminder that the reason that I have released these as free is that although the pattern is perfect things like the photos and grammar may not be.
There are no instructions for joining the squares, every one has their own preferences but I use the standard front lacing method that the ELCG use.
