Materials:

  • worsted weight yarn

  • 1.5 oz. of dress colour (B)

  • small amounts of a skin color (A)

  • small amounts of burgundy for trim (C)

  • small amounts of white for apron(D)

  • small amounts of a hair colour

  • polyester stuffing

  • 2 small “E” beads for eyes (or, use puff paint, embroider or use beads/buttons as desired)

Designer’s Notes:

I let my daughters choose the dress colours! I had in mind two shades of blue and a cream, but they chose grey and burgundy! Partway through, she looked like a pilgrim. Although she would never have been permitted to wear such a short skirt and pointy hat! Make skirt longer and change the hat slightly for pilgrim.

Then, after the hair was added: She looked like (and still does!) Anne of Green Gables. Again, change dress colour and change the hat a bit, and she'd look even more like my favourite orphan!
