Small rectangular doily

15 x 22 cm knitted in 15 gm. thin rayon with steel knitting needle Nr. 7/0 (old German needle size)

The middle part is worked flat on 27 stitches (Fig 3 A). Wrong-side rows are purled.
Repeat rows 3 and 5 until a total of 80 rows have been completed. Work row 81 and 82.

Then without casting off the 27 stitches on the needle, pick up 41 stitches on each long side and 27 stitches at the cast-on edge, and knit one row in the round.

Increase by 19 stitches along each long side, adding one at the 3-stitch groups and another 18 out of every 2M 2M knit.

After one more knit round, over now 174 stitches, begin the border part in Fig. 3 B.
