These fingerless gloves are knit using traditional Shetland knitting techniques. These gloves use eight colors of Shetland wool. One skein of the main color and small amounts of the seven pattern colors are needed. Yardage is not specified for the accent colors.

The author writes, “These are dull, almost indistinct colors, all but one of the yarns is a heathered blend. The insertion of a round of stitches alternating background colors of adjacent bands further mutes contrast by effectively blurring the border between one band and the next.”
