The name for this pattern comes from the chart for the textured pattern. Knitted it looks like a woven design with enough interest to keep the knitter amused but not too tricky to knit. Drawn out on paper the design is formed from a series of L-shapes which resemble the path the knight takes across the chess board.
Suitable for both men and women (and sized from 7” foot circumference up to 10” foot circumference) the socks are best made in a solid or semi-solid coloured yarn to allow the texture to show to its best advantage. The fabric is fairly stretchy.

The socks are worked top-down with a heel flap and gusset.

As well as the chart, the texture pattern is also given as written instructions.

You will need to be able to: work in the round, work from charted or written instructions, graft/use kitchener stitch to join the toes.
