“Why, look Mr. Frodo! Look here! Well, if it isn’t Pippin. Mr. Peregrin Took I should say, and Mr. Merry! How they have grown! Bless me! But I can see there’s more tales to tell than ours.”

“There are indeed,” said Pippin turning towards him. “And we’ll begin telling them, as soon as this feast is ended. … For the present Merry and I are busy. We are knights of the City and of the Mark, as I hope you observe.”

-- J.R.R.Tolkien, The Return of the King

These thick stranded mittens will allow you to wear the heraldry of the City or of the Mark with pride, and keep your hands well protected as well. An extended cuff blocks those fingers of winter that creep up coat sleeves. They are worked at a tight gauge for extra wind resistance. The left and right thumb gussets are positioned slightly differently for a more natural fit, and to allow the whole-hand motifs to wrap around so that the full motif is displayed with the mittens are held together.
