Taken from The Lady’s Assistant for Executing Useful and Fancy Designs in Knitting, Netting, and Crochet Work (1847) by Jane Gaugain.

I’ve done row by row instructions and charted the bead design.

It’s knit with silk beading cord on size 5/0 needles, but as it’s a bag gauge isn’t truly important. It could easily be knit on larger needles to make a modern bag.

10 May 2013--I found a mistake in the row by row instructions for the spots. Two rows were flipped and the stitches after the repeat were left off. As of 10 May, this is corrected. The chart is correct.
