Elegant Aran stitches create this classic knitted Christmas stocking design. Its generous size makes room for lots of treats! (Red Heart)

Skill Level: Intermediate

  1. Stocking is made from 3 pieces: front, back, and cuff. Two strands of yarn are held together when making stocking. A single strand is used when making cuff.
  2. Front and back are worked from bottom of foot upwards.
  3. Front and back are mirror-images of each other.
  4. Cuff is worked from side to side. Short rows (worked over only a portion of the stitches in a row) are used to shape the cuff slightly. This creates a shorter top edge.

Additional supplies: Pompon maker if needed. Yarn needle.
