This pattern is for a knitted and felted dryer ball. You will be knitting a ball with a slit in the side, stuffing it with wool batt wound into a ball, stitching up the slit, and felting it in the washing machine and dryer.

The pattern is written for DK or worsted weight. The exact yarn and gauge is not important, as long as it will felt. However, if made with thicker yarn, it will come out bigger and require more stuffing.

The stuffing going into the knitted shell should be very dense as it will shrink a lot during felting.
