Knitted carnation flower is an easy and quick knitting project. You can use knit flowers for decoration, like making a handmade Mother’s Day card. Also, a knitted flower carnation will look beautiful as a brooch. Also you can use it as a photo props. Everything is up to your imagination!

In the pattern I am combine two techniques: round knitting and knitting by turning rows. Stem, petals and branches are knitted in separate parts and sewn.

The pattern is intended for beginner users. The basic yarn for knitting carnation flower is shown in the pattern; also you can use suitable analogs.
Working is divided into stages:
1. Knitting base stem;
2. Knitting flower’s petals and the connection of flower details;
3. Knitting small branches and sew on to the base stem;
Materials and Tools
1. You can use any suitable wool/cotton yarn with similar footage and properties for the specified size.
a. I use cotton Kartopu Organica 1,76 Oz/136 yrd (50 grams/125 meters), 100% cotton yarn for flower stem.
b. Stock bobine yarn Zegna Baruffa Softly mouline (100% extrafine merino wool) 100 grams (3.53 ounces) in 383 yards (350 meters) in one (1) strand, color #520731 red mouline for petals variant 1;
c. Stock bobine yarn Zegna Baruffa CASHWOOL (100% extrafine merino wool) 100 grams (3.53 ounces) in 1640 yards (1500 meters) in six (6) strand, light pink color for petals variant 2;
For one flower, you will need about 0,5Oz (15 grams) of yarn;
2. Circular needles with long line (from 23.6’’ (60cm)) for round knitting, or Addi Crazy Trio needles, or double pointed needles. I used US 2 (2,75mm) size needles. Select a knitting needle size based on the specified knitting gauge and your yarn: from US 0 (1,75mm) to US 2 (3,0mm).
3. Scissors; needle, pins, 1 knitting marker.

THE PATTERN INCLUDES: Row numbers for each step so you don’t lose your place, instructions for making the carnation flower, photos, videos, a list of abbreviations and explanation of all techniques, a materials list.
