This is a knitted “in the round” corn accessory for the character Mei from My Neighbor Totoro. The leaves are knitted flat then sewn to the cob and stalk. You need to know how to knit 5 stitch “I cord”.

You don’t use all needle sizes listed for the project, it’s just a suggested range of possible sizes to knit with.

The DPN sizes are smaller than those normally used for worsted weight, the goal is to knit a tight gauge so the stuffing doesn’t show.

In addition to being comfortable knitting ITR you should know these:
LTCO = long tail cast on
SSK
K2tog
KFB = knit in front, then in back of stitch.

KRL = knit right loop of the stitch in the row below the next stitch by placing it onto LN, then knit it, knit the stitch above this increase. Remember the increase and knit stitch counts as “krl”, don’t count the knit stitch as part of the following knit instructions.

KLL = knit left loop of stitch two rows below last completed stitch by placing it onto LN, then knitting it through back loop.

TBL(s) = through back loop(s)

In addition to the small amounts of worsted weight yarn,
you’ll need a tiny bit of poly fiber fill to stuff the cob.
This corn is about 4”long.
