This pattern is for complete beginners to knitting. It shows you how to knit this pattern as you go along, explaining each step in detail with plenty of pictures. As you knit these flowers you will learn to cast on, knit, purl and bind off as well as how to put them together. They would make great appliques for bigger projects (scarves, jackets, etc), brooches or stitched onto hair bobbles and hairbands?

The pattern gives details on how you can adapt it to make bigger or smaller versions of the same flower, as well as adding more ‘layers’ to the finished flower. You could knit these flowers in contrasting colours, or both layers in the same colour, it’s up to you. You will need a tapestry needle to finish off the flowers, as well as your chosen yarn(s) and knitting needles.

Gauge is not important for this project, and you can make lots of these flowers from two small 25g skeins of any yarn that you choose! I recommend knitting the flowers in DK yarn using 4mm needles, but you could just as easily use chunky/bulky yarn and use the needle size that the ball band recommends!
