This bright fly agaric (also known as amanita muscaria or toadstool) knitting pattern lets you create a charming mushroom toy that can be used all year round. The finished toadstool makes a lovely decorative accent for shelves, seasonal displays, or cozy home decor.

The knitted fly agaric can be used as a toy, photo styling prop, or a whimsical handmade decoration. A fun and relaxing knitting project, perfect for gifts or adding a playful, nature-inspired touch to your home.

The fly agaric mushroom toy is knitted by the needles in a single fabric, without cutting of the thread, knitting occurs in a circle. Amanita ring and a loop for hanging are knitted after knitting the base of the mushroom.
Knitting is divided into stages:

1. Fly agaric base (mushroom leg and cap , filling);
2. Mushroom ring (picking up the loops on the mushroom);
3. Embroidery of specks on a mushroom cap (using tapestry needle);
4. Knitting loop for hanging (optional)

Materials and Tools
1) You can use any suitable wool/cotton yarn with similar footage and properties. I used 2 yarn:
• Alize Lanagold Classic yarn (51% acrylic, 49% wool) 100 grams (3.53 ounces) in 262 yards (240 meters) in one (1) strand, color 01 white;
• Stock bobine yarn Zegna Baruffa Softly mouline (100% extrafine merino wool) 100 grams (3.53 ounces) in 383 yards (350 meters) in one (1) strand, color #520731 red mouline.
For one fly agaric toy, you will need about 0,5Oz (15 grams) of yarn;
2) Circular needles with long line (from 23.6’’ (60cm)) for round knitting, or Addi Crazy Trio needles, or double pointed needles. I used US 2 (2,75mm) size needles. Select a knitting needle size based on the specified knitting gauge and your yarn: from US 0 (1,75mm) to US 2 (3,0mm).
3) Toy stuffing (holofiber, thinsulate etc.), thin fishing transparent line;
4) Scissors, thick needle and crochet hook size C/2 (3mm) or smaller size;
5) 1 knitting marker.

Note: in the pattern I am guided by round knitting on knitting needles with a long line using the magic loop method (or on the Addi crasy trio knitting needles), and the total number of stitches are divided equally and located on two knitting needles, opposite each other. You can use any knitting needles that are convenient for you, taking into account the above.
