Knitted Frog
This knitted Frog is a great use for that green stash yarn. Fun to knit with a huge smile!
Uses any green dk yarn with small amount of yellow for the mouth and a short length of black for the mouth. Gauge isn’t important but suggest a needle smaller than recommended on the ball band to give a neat finish.
It is advanced beginner - the pattern is written instructions with full image tutorial for sewing and assembly.
Techniques needed - knit, purl, increases and decreases, casting on/off. Casting on at beginning of a row (used once on leg) see below.
There is help on my blog under the howto.. section explaining casting on stitches at the beginning of a row which is used on the legs.
The body is knitted in one piece with a colour change. The arms/legs are knitted in one piece, seamed and attached to the body. The eyes are also one piece, seamed and attached to the body. (Toy eyes are used but you could embroider)
The legs of the frog make sure he sits and the arms fall at the side.
Toys eyes were 8mm, uses less that 40g of green yarn and small amount of yellow. Sitting height is 13 cm 5.5 inches approx.
Great little knit with alot of character. They need a name so knit and personalise, mine are Lily and Leonard!
