The Knitted Library Window Watchcap is worked in the
round from the bottom up in 2x2 ribbing to grip
the head on fast sledding runs. The hat is knit inside
out to avoid all those purls in the brim. Where does it get its name? The windows have a decorative pattern of diagonals and crosses in the panes, I worked out a knit and purl pattern like it for the brim.

Looking for the crochet version? It’s here.

Pattern is written for smallest size, with changes
for medium and large in parentheses. When only
one number is given, it applies to all sizes.

For a child’s hat, you need only one skein, for a teen or adult, two skeins.

For each sale, I will donate $5.00 to the Friends of the Attleboro Public Library, a non-profit which raises money for programs, museum passes, and extra books for the library. The way my homeschool puts books on reserve, we’d better be supporting this institution!

Thanks to Alexandra Virgiel for her rapid, cheerful and encouraging tech editing, not to mention donating her time to the cause.
