Create a cute mini carrot toy with this easy PDF tutorial. This small knitted carrot makes a fun toy, Easter decor, or handmade gift and works perfectly for stress relief and comfort. Beginner-friendly and quick to knit.

I made flat version of mini-carrot. Сarrot tops knitted by an i-cord and sew on the base.

The pattern is intended for beginner users. The basic yarn for knitting carrot is shown in the pattern; also you can use suitable analogs.

Working is divided into stages:

1. Knitting carrot’s base;
2. Knitting carrot’s top and sew on;
3. Embroidery stripes on the carrots (optionally);

SIZE

9 stitches and 15 rows on a 2 x 2’’ (5.08 x 5.08 cm) swatch in a stockinette stitch with US 2 needles (2,75mm).
From the specified yarn and gauge, size of the carrot toy is 4.3 × 1.8 inches (11 × 4.5 cm from bottom to top). For other yarns, the size of the finished toy may vary.

To create such knitted baby carrot you shall know how to make knit and purl stitches, all other actions are shown in many pictures and videos. You will succeed!

MATERIALS and TOOLS you will need to knitting carrot:

1. I used Worsted Caucasian (Karachay) yarn, wool-like acrylic, 250 m (273 yd) per 100 g (3.53 oz). Also I used Alize Softy 1.76 Oz (50g) /125 Yds (115 m), 100% Micro Polyester. You can use any suitable wool/cotton/polyester yarn with similar footage and properties for the specified size. The following yarn is also suitable: • Lion Brand Yarn, Vanna’s Choice Premium Soft Yarn, Acrylic, 170 Yards/3.5 Ounces; • Paintbox Yarns Simply Aran, 100% Acrylic, 184m (201yds)/100g (3.53oz), Aran; For one carrot toy, you will need about 0.35–0.53 Oz (10-15 grams) of yarn;
2. Double pointed needles. I used US 2 (2,75mm) size needles. Choose knitting needles from 2.75 mm to 4 mm (US sizes 2–6) based on the specified knitting gauge and your yarn.
3. Toy stuffing (holofiber, thinsulate etc.);
4. Some yarn for embroidery carrot’s stripes. I used brown color yarn mixed with sewing thread;
5. Scissors; needle, sewing pins.
