Knitting Jenny Patterns 14 and 15: Fair Isle Inspired Mittens feature two similar yet unique designs that can be mixed or matched, and a cuff with folded picot hemmed edge.

The pattern includes knitting designs, motifs, and instructions in the following inclusive formats:

  • Color Charts
  • Grayscale Charts
  • Written Instructions
  • Illustrations

The mittens are knit circularly, and are constructed as follows:

  • Provisionally cast on, knit the cuff, increase, knit the stranded colorwork of the hand, then decrease to the fingertips.

Each pattern features 3 colors of 100% Shetland 2 ply jumper weight wool from Jamieson and Smith, also known as Shetland Wool Brokers.

Alternately, substitute any fingering weight or 2 ply equivalent to a 4 ply.

The following tools are required:

  • 2.0mm knitting needles (for the cuff lining)
  • 2.5mm knitting needles (for the stranded colorwork)

The gauge is:

  • 38 stitches and 44 rows to 4 inches (10 centimeters) over the stranded colorwork pattern, knit circularly with 2.5mm knitting needles, after washing, blocking, drying.

The book includes a discussion on the topic of Color Dominance, to support consistent, uniform stitch definition.

The book includes 25 illustrations and 53 pages.

The book is intended to be read electronically, in consideration of the environment.
