This is a pattern for a classic, simple ladies’ jumper with a slightly
fitted waist and fully fashioned raglan sleeves. A raglan sleeve is
joined onto the body of a garment with a diagonal seam.

‘Fully fashioned’ means that the decreases are made a stitch or two in from the edge of the knitting, which gives a very tidy edge to your seams and makes the sewing-up process much more straightforward than it would be on non-fully fashioned seams.

Don’t let the classic lines of this jumper fool you – you can jazz it up with colours, stripes, yarn choices and embellishments. It’s the sort of garment you’ll not only learn lots of neat knitting tricks on, but one that you’ll wish you owned in lots of different colours, as its simple design looks good with everything! I hope that you will find this knitting project satisfying both to make and wear.
