Spread love, hope, and a little knitted magic to a child who has lost everything.

Knot Forgotten (part of Open Doors) aims to share the love of Jesus with children of the persecuted church by creating and delivering hand knit and crocheted Knot Forgotten toys. Knot Forgotten was founded as a response to the Syrian refugee crisis, and has since expanded to include children from all over the world.

As of writing, over 2000 toys have been donated by makers from over 50 countries around the world. The message is one of love and joy, and to let each child know they’re not forgotten.

This is the knitted version of the original crochet design by Justine Shapiro. The full set of crochet patterns are available to purchase through the Open Doors website.

The entire pattern is worked flat on straight needles and then seamed afterwards. You will need a pair of 3.00mm needles and some spare DK yarn in various colours.

You will also need toy stuffing, oddments of yarn for the facial embroidery, a wool needle, a spare needle or stitch holder, and an extra set of DPNs (or a circular needle) for making the i-cord bee antennae.

If you have any questions, I’m happy to help! Feel free to PM me on Ravelry, Instagram or Facebook.

Happy knitting!
