Knot To Be Missed is the fifth design of my Macramé Collection, a series of designs inspired by the beautiful textures of macramé art. It can be knit as a summer tee or a long-sleeved top.

CONSTRUCTION
Stitches are cast on for the back and shoulders and worked flat with short row shaping to curve the back of the neck. The initial cast on and shoulder shaping is worked in a smaller needle size to increase stability in the garment. Once shoulder length is reached, stitches are picked up for each front piece, which are shaped with short row shaping. From here, the textured stitch pattern is introduced, combining knits, purls and yarnovers to produce a variety of contrasting elements. Increases are worked into the sleeves and V-neck front and later into the front and back to shape the armhole. Once V-neck depth is reached, the front is joined and worked in the round. Once armhole depth is reached, sleeves are separated from the body. The remainder of the body and sleeves are worked in the round, continuing the textured stitch pattern. Long or short sleeves can be worked to suit personal preference.

SIZING GUIDE
This garment is graded into sizes 1 (2, 3, 4, 5) (6, 7, 8, 9). Recommended positive ease is 4+” / 10+ cm at the chest circumference.

Finished Garment Chest Circumference:
35 (38, 42.75, 45.75, 50.25) (53.25, 58, 62.5, 65.5)“
87.5 (95, 106.5, 114.5, 125.5) (133.5, 145, 156, 164) cm

GAUGE
Using 4 mm / US size 6 needles, or needle size required to meet gauge, 21 stitches over 27 rows / rounds in the textured stitch pattern (see Body, p.13), wet blocked, creates a 4x4” / 10x10 cm square.

YARN
The sample has been worked using Irish Artisan Yarn’s Baby Alpaca / Silk 4ply base (70% Baby Alpaca / 30% Silk; 400 m / 438 yds per 100 g) in colourway Rialto Bridge.
