“Kodachi” is a classic, everyday triangular shawl.
You can adjust the size of the pattern section and garter edge to your liking (but it will affect the yardage).
“Kodachi” is a name inspired by a beautiful and simple stitch pattern, which means “grove of trees” in Japanese.
The pattern includes written and charted instructions.

GAUGE
17 sts × 34 rows = 10 cm / 4 inches ( in Garter Stitch, after blocking )

YARN
Worsted yarn : 625 m / 685 yds / 250 g.
The sample was knitted with Retrosaria Brusca ( 137 yds / 125 m / 50 g ) 5 skeins. Color; mustard ‘5c’.

NEEDLES
US 6 ( 4.0 mm ) circular needles, 100 cm / 40 inches long.

OTHER MATERIALS
Tapestry needle, stitch markers.

Approx 170 cm / 67 inches wingspan and 71 cm / 28 inches deep along center (after blocking).

SKILLS REQUIRED
Long Tail Cast On
k2tog = Knit 2sts together.
SK2P = Slip 1 st, k 2 sts together, pass slipped st over the 2 knit st.
ssk = Slip, slip, knit.
M1L = Make 1 left.
M1R = Make 1 right

“Kodachi”は中央と端で目を増やしながら編んでいく三角ショールです。
膝にかけたり、くるんと首元にまいたり。地味過ぎず派手過ぎない模様編みと太めの糸のおかげで、編みやすく使い勝手のいい一枚になりました。シンプルなステッチの繰り返しなので模様編み初心者にもおすすめです。
模様編み部分と端のガーター編み部分の長さは、お好みで変更できます（その場合は糸量が変わります）。
パターンの模様編み部分は、チャートと文章、両方の説明が入っています。
